LONGEST SEMESTER EVER. Ugh.
I’m not sure what made this semester at school quite so difficult. Yes, I was taking an unbelievable workload. Yes, my new job makes it difficult to do homework at work, as my old job afforded me. Yes, I moved and am still putting up my apartment. Yes, my classes were insanely difficult. Perhaps I should be not looking for one reason, but just combine all those reasons. I barely had time to breathe it seems; but alas, at 1:30 pm today it all ended. I took my last final for the semester and didn’t even wait for my final grade, which would have only taken 15 minutes or so. I’m teetering on the edge of an A/A-, but… no fucks were given (as the saying goes).
I was so looking forward to three weeks of relaxation that I booked a hotel about 2 hours away from Orlando, just south of Tampa- in Sarasota, Fl. I haven’t spent more than an afternoon here, and I’m looking forward to spending a couple days, just relaxing and doing nothing in particular. Its supposed to rain the entire time I’m here, but I really could care less. If I end up in the hotel the entire time, that’s fine with me. There is a world class art museum just across the street from my hotel, so you can bet your ass I’ll be checking that out, whatever the weather.
But, the ending of my semester AND going on vacay weren’t the only reasons for this smile-
After 6 months, working my ass off making Lattes and the like, my boss pulled me aside today as I stopped in for some green tea for the road. “I know you are on your way out of town, but I just wanted to ask you if you’d be interested in a promotion… probably around January or February”
“Good, we’ll talk more about it when you get back. Enjoy your trip.”
So… I reiterate…
I’m not sure if my day could get much better. After the rough couple of months I’ve had, it really is what I needed. The only thing that’d make my vacay better? If Albert was here. He had to work, so he couldn’t join me, but alone time is good too. If anyone is in the area, let me know. I’d love to meet up for lunch/dinner/movie/ way too much vodka.
Till next time!
