Personal Blog: Scandinavia… prepare!

I just finished packing- tomorrow I head out on my next whirlwind adventure. My best friend and I are meeting up in Oslo for a two week jump around the major stops in Norway, Sweden and Denmark. This, of course, comes after a much needed break from an intensely difficult semester at school and some craziness at work. I cannot tell you how much I need this two weeks away to do some photography, hike, drink, meet some cool people, relax, eat some awesome food… and just be around different scenery than my own little corner of the world.

So- if you’ve been before, drop me a note and tell me what I should see! If you live in Oslo, Bergen, Copenhagen or Stockholm- drop me a note and lets get some coffee! But also, feel free to just say hi no matter where you live.

Oh, and be patient with the blog for the next couple of weeks. I’ll try to be posting regularly and featuring some of my favorite older posts on top of that, just for spice, but… I may be a day late with some stuff.

  1. Scandinavia is a great place! I’ve done a lot of traveling there and have more coming up next year. Oslo is a beautiful city and if you are there you must visit the National Gallery, the Edvard Munch Museum, the Opera House, The Fram and Viking Ship Museums! There is also a really unique bar in the downtown area, very close to the National Gallery (it’s not a huge city, so it’s easy to get around on foot or by bus) where everything is made of ice. There is also a giant park with some very odd statues in the Western part of the city…I was there in the wintertime so walking around a park was not on my list of things to do, but everyone said I should at some point.

Stockholm is a much bigger city and has tons of museums. The most important is to check out all of the museums in the Royal Palace. At the ticket office you can get a little booklet with a listing, description and detailed info of ALL the museums in and around Stockholm…it’s very handy. There are tons of them, including the Vasa Ship museum, which I loved, in Djurgarden. The Gamle Stan (old city) is really quaint and beautiful…and you definitely need to go shopping in the center at the NK department store. But truth be told, the men and the sex in Scandinavia are unreal…I absolutely met the hottest and most passionate and intense men every time I’ve been up there, so if getting to know the locals is also on your list of things, just know that they all look like they stepped off the pages of Nautica catalogs and they are all hung and HOT! Enjoy your trip!!

    1. Thanks for the advice! I’m having an absolute blast in Copenhagen at the moment, ready to head off to Stockholm!
